The main structure, formed by combining four equally sized blocks with a shared passage space and connected to two additional structures, is accessed from the eastern side of the site. The axes of the entrance and the old stone building to the north create the layout axes of the structure. The common area where the two axes intersect is also the space for vertical circulation. With these simplified intersections, very complex functional relationships can be resolved in simplified spatial relationships.
This understanding provides an important flexibility in providing the relationships between the functions specified in the programme and in meeting the changes that may occur over time. The simplification adopted for the functioning extends to the geometrical forms of the masses and continues in the choice of materials and detailing. Within these principles, this structure is the first well-organized building in our construction activities. The architect, owner, user, control, contractor and subcontractor groups have been able to produce a building that almost completely coincides with the initial idea thanks to a systematic work. In this sense, it is a well-executed “project.”
